Our Upcoming Guest Speaker: Senait Fisseha
We are eagerly anticipating an informative and powerful morning October 26th from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. We are fortunate enough to have Senait Fisseha, MD, JD, an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Michigan as our speaker. With her special interest in infertility, global women’s health, and reproductive ethics and the law, Dr. Fisseha combines her legal background and medical training into a unique combination of special expertise. In Dr. Fisseha’s own words: “During my childhood (in Ethiopia), seeing how women’s health can impact an entire society, had a profound impact on me. Watching women struggle with infertility or complications from childbirth taught me some very powerful life lessons that made me who I am today.” In addition to her frequent (almost monthly!) trips to Ethiopia, where she has several ongoing projects aimed at reducing maternal mortality, Dr. Fisseha has also worked in India, Ghana, and Kenya. She joined iZosh at our kick-off event in May 2012 and we are thankful for her return as our speaker. We look forward to gathering with you on the morning of October 26th, and hope you will invite friends, neighbors and colleagues for an educational and productive morning granting loans to women in extreme poverty. An additional note to members: If you need to update your pledge/dues for this year, please contact our treasurers, Carol and Rhonda, at treasurer@izosh.org. This information will help our loan officers plan for how much we have to give during our morning together. If you are unable to attend, submit your dues prior to the event (a check with your confidential, self-determined amount made out to Huron Hills Church with the word “iZosh” in the memo line). This submission can be made by sending it with a friend, or mailing a check (by October 24th) payable to Huron Hills Church with iZōsh written on the memo line. Mail to: Attn: iZōsh Treasurers, Huron Hills Church, 3150 Glazier Way, Ann Arbor, 48105.
